The Act covers various basic requirements that security guard applicants in Ontario must meet, including new training and testing procedures that came into effect on April 15, 2010.


To become a private security guard in Ontario, the procedure is regulated by the Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. If you want to be a security guard in Toronto you must qualify under the provincial regulations and apply for an Individual Security Guard License. The process is planned to enhance public safety and ensure compliance with the provincial law.
